I’m afraid we’ve been spoiled. I had gotten used to flying coach. Having experienced the luxury that is business class, the return to reality on our next flight is going to be harsh.
For the Record – Business Class to Europe is the only way to go
On the subject of transportation, I feel compelled to offer the following recommendation when traveling to Europe: If it is at all possible, book a reservation in business class. This is especially true if you happen to be 6′ 5″ and your traveling companion is 6’4″. Seating in business class offers all the comforts of your living room — more actually, assuming nobody brings you hot washcloths in your living room. Each seat is fully reclinable, with an ottoman. A pillow and blanket are – of course – standard issue. Each seat has its own video screen, and there are literally hundreds of movies, TV shows, game, and music options. Our flight was overnight (seven and a half hours from Minneapolis to Paris) and we were served both dinner and breakfast. The meals were excellent.
Haha – it’s awesome, isn’t it? Unfortunately, my luggage goes astray whenever I fly first class (two out of two), which is a bit of a downside.
